Track Options

Each student and leader will choose three tracks to attend during Discover Conference. Youth Leaders, please have your students tell you which tracks they would like to attend BEFORE you register. You'll need this information during the registration process. Below, you'll find information about each track leader and a summary of what their track will be about. Each track will be offered three times throughout the weekend in order to give everyone the opportunity to attend if they wish. Here is a helpful PDF of the following information for you to print and show your students.

  • WHAT IS MINISTRY?

Bio: My name is Andrew Ostrander, I’m super excited to lead a track this year! I have been at nearly every Discover since its inaugural year (all but one year!). I’ve attended as a student, youth volunteer, and will now be there as a track leader and student ministry director. I grew up in the North Central Region and am now the Director of Student Ministries at Wakarusa Missionary Church. Prior to this job, I was a teacher in the Goshen School corporation. My wife, Veronica, and I have been married for two years now.  She is a teacher in the Goshen School district, teaching 5th grade.

Description of Track: Join us as we dive into “What is Ministry?” Coming from my unique perspective and experiences, we will look at what ministry looks like in different roles. Does doing ministry have to be your job? Does it have to be in a church building? We will compare two different approaches to ministry: vocational and non-vocational. On top of all this, we will explore the Call to Ministry. “What if I feel like God is calling me to ministry?” I’d love to have you join this conversation and answer some of these questions together.

  • WHAT ARE THE FACTS ABOUT FEELINGS?

(This track is for Juniors, Seniors, and Leaders ONLY!)

Bio: My name is Graham Brown and I am the Get Schooled Tour Director for RemedyLIVE, a technology-based non-profit that produces interactive events and includes a 24-hour staffed chat center that provides hope and live chat interaction for people who are struggling with mental health issues. I began working for RemedyLIVE as a SoulMedic in the 24-hour chat center in 2017. During that time, I was an elementary and middle school teacher. I then left the classroom and joined RemedyLIVE full-time as the Get Schooled Tour Director in 2022. I currently live in Northeast Indiana with my wife, Courtney. Outside of work, I am a middle and high school soccer coach, play the electric bass, and love listening to podcasts.

Description of TrackJoin us as we discuss “What are the facts about feelings?” We often let our feelings define who we are. Emotions are essential for us as human beings, but we frequently hold onto them a lot longer than we should. We can find ourselves believing we are the exact opposite of what God calls us. In this track, we will dive into the science behind our emotions, discover God's purpose for them, and ultimately spend time reminding ourselves that what our feelings tell us isn't fact. God's Word is!

  • WHAT IS SCRIPTURE?

Bio: Hi, I'm Alex Brovont! My wife, Kate and I, live in Centreville, Michigan with our son JJ, our baby who will be a month old at Discover Conference 2025, and our dog Archie. I'm the Lead Pastor of Crossroads Missionary Church in Mendon, Michigan. I love to spend time with my family and our friends, cook, tend to our chickens, fish, hunt and camp, and most of all I love to see followers of Jesus, young and old, grow in their walk with Him!

Description of Track: We call the Bible, "The Word of God", but what does that really mean? It's an ancient book but how can it still relate to my life today? There's so much in it, how do I know where to start and how to apply it to my life? What's the difference between the Old and New Testament? Is the Old Testament still relevant? These questions and more I hope to walk through and answer together and we talk about "What is Scripture?"

  • WHAT IS PRAYER?

BioHi! I'm Andrea Miller. I have been leading in full time ministry since 2017 and love what Discover Conference is all about! You’ll typically find me with coffee, with friends, or at home watching football or a show while I paint my nails. I also love the outdoors and only has 3 states to go before visiting all 50 in the US! My husband, Nate, and I  live in Goshen, IN, where Nate works as a YouTuber and I serve as a Pastor in Connections and Storytelling at Maple City Chapel.

Description of Track: How would you define prayer? Is it a one-sided conversation, wish list, or only words that we say over our food to hopefully make it taste better, or our panicked concern before a big test? This track will dive deeper into prayer and give you a personalized way to pray and take home with you. Prayer shouldn’t be boring, so join us as we learn a model of prayer from God’s Word, spend time in prayer, and discover more of who God is as we intentionally spend time with Him.
